 2006 Women's Retreat Minnesota Women’s Ministries Retreat 2006: “A Sanctuary In Time”
October 27-29, 180 women from all over Minnesota enjoyed the ministry of Dr. Jo Ann Davidson and Ernestine Finley during the fall retreat. The theme of our annual equipping and fellowship gathering was “A Sanctuary In Time.” God has given us a priceless gift of time to commune with Him and share in outreach to our community, family and friends. On Friday evening, Dr. Davidson led us in a ‘welcoming the Sabbath’ message and service. The ladies were invited to experience the wonder of the Sabbath blessing and make its anticipation a precious tradition in their families.
During Sabbath school time, Ernestine Finley shared what God has been doing through evangelistic outreach around the world. At the worship service, Dr. Davidson invited the group to more deeply understand Jesus’ Sabbath miracles. The invitation was to allow His miracles of spiritual healing in our lives.
The afternoon gave opportunity for breakaways sessions with a focus on equipping for ministry to our family and community. One lady shared, “The fire and passion for outreach kindled a fire in my heart.” Another lady, speaking of Ernestine Finley’s presentation on her experience of preaching for an evangelistic series said, “I’m ready to give one!”
On Sunday morning, Dr. Davidson commissioned the ladies to live our lives in God’s presence. Through Scripture she showed us our nature proclaims God and how we can become a testimony of His salvation in our world.
The next women’s ministries equipping event is March 27, 2007 at Southview Church. “Women In Touch” outreach ideas will be shared by Angel Bock, pastor from Collegeview church in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Nancy Buxton, Mid America Union women’s ministries director.
The next fall women’s ministries retreat will be October 26-28, 2007 at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria, Minnesota.
